Happy Birthday Koen!

I'm TWO!

The doc said I'm lookin' good!
Weight: 26.75 lbs (25%)
Height: 33.5 inches (25%) - this is absolutely wrong...she tried to measure me standing up and I kept tilting my head down
Head: 19.75 inches (75-90%)

I had a balloon-themed birthday party and Mom and Dad had all the balloons covering the floor when they brought me down in the morning.  It was awesome!

Grandpa Bob made a short surprise visit - I was so happy to see him!

Noah and the other older kids did balloon races while the rest of us cheered them on.

"Mac-cheese"...nothing else I'd rather have for my birthday lunch!
I love candles too...
...this is going to be good!
Wow, everybody is singing just to me? I like it!

Hooray, I made a good mess of myself!
I enlisted the help of Noah and the older kids again for the gift opening - they are much more efficient :-)
This keyboard does everything!  I can't wait to sharpen my musical talent with this thing.  Thanks Grandpa Mike and Grandma Lisa!

UP - Part 3

Here's a few more fun pics from Grandma Chris :-)
More from the camp...
Fun times at Wal-mart
More from the cabin...could there be a better place to have dinner as a family?!

UP - Part 2

We spent the last half of our second week at the Hodges family camp on Lake Superior.  The weather was beautiful and the blueberries were ripe for the pickin'!

It rained for a couple hours one morning so we made the drive to Copper Harbor to see all the sites.  By the time we arrived at the first waterfall, the sun was out and we had clear views at the top of Brockway Mountain.

I can drive this thing, Granpda!
The whole fam at the camp :-)

All this berry picking is really just too much for me.

I tried Superman ice cream for the first time and loved it - check out my tongue!!

Our second annual ride on the old steam train in Lake Linden - it was awesome again!

So, how has your day been Grandpa?
Fishin' buddies
I graduated to the top bunk this year at the camp - it comes with special privileges...which Koen also tried to take advantage of.

We went on a walk down the beach with Uncle Ray and found a frog friend.
We sure love it here!!

We drove out to Baraga to have dinner with Paul and stopped at the Bishop Baraga shrine first.  It was a pretty cool - and enormous - thing to see and we had fun roaming around together.

Later that week mom took us to McClain State Park while Daddy was at work - we were sad he couldn't join us but really happy that Grandma Chris, Miss Amy, and Max came with us!  We completed the whole nature walk, which may not seem like a big deal but if you take into consideration the fact that our group included three kids under 5, one mom ready to go into labor at any moment, one mom carrying two bags and a camera, and a grandma hauling an umbrella stroller through the sand and dirt trails, it was quite an accomplishment!

I couldn't wait to go to the Houghton County Fair again this year - I was counting down the days since the day we arrived in Hancock.  Koen was able to go on a lot of the rides this year too so that made it even more fun!

I decided that I wanted to go on some "real" rides this year with Mommy - we both loved the Scrambler!
The swings were awesome - first on my list for next year!
Grandma MJ joined us at the fair again this year and she happily went along with what both her grandsons loved best...Koen pushing his stroller around and me watching the Motocross races :-)

Mommy and I went to watch the Ranger leave for Isle Royal on Friday morning with Grandma MJ - we had front-row seats!

Saturday was a big day for me.  Grandpa needed my help moving rocks with his backhoe and we worked hard all afternoon .  I took a few water breaks, but I was committed!

Grandpa and I did some fishing on our last day, without much luck.  But it was still fun!
