Koen's 1st Birthday

I'm one - can you believe it!?  This year has really flown by.  Here are my stats from the doc on Monday:

Weight: 20lbs, 8oz (10-25%)
Height: 30 in (50-75%)
Head: 18.5 in (50-75%)

I'm a healthy and happy little boy!  According to "the charts" you could say I'm a little behind in some developmental areas, but I see no need to rush things along - I'm having a great time :-)  I am drinking milk out of a sippy cup with no allergy issues to dairy like my big bro so Mom and Dad were really happy about that!  I love to eat and will eat pretty much anything, but only if someone puts it in my mouth for me.  I've decided that feeding myself is just too much work :-)  I take after my mom, savoring each bite and will not open up for more until every last crumb is safely down the hatch.  I love to bop around to music, drumming/tapping on things, standing up to play, getting pushed around on the tricycle outside, and laughing at my brother when he does ridiculous things.  I continue to be a super sleeper and am a happy and content little guy!

My party was very low-key which was just fine with me - I'm happy that my buddy Sam came to celebrate with me.
Mommy said this is the best cake there is and I think I like the looks of it!
I'm not sure why everyone's singing to me, but this is pretty fun!

A cupcake just for me...decorated by Noah :-)
I like it!
Well, maybe not.
Is this supposed to be fun?
Yes!
Looks like I did a great job with this thing, but managed to not put a single morsel in my mouth!

Apple Orchard

We made our annual trip to the apple orchard last Sunday after church.  It was the most beautiful day to be there and I wanted to jump right on the tractor when we arrived, but first things first, the pumpkin donuts!
Dad and I made a great team picking apples.
The Moo-Choo train is my other favorite thing to do besides the tractor - this year I was so excited to go by myself.
Mom and Dad are going to take a picture of me in front of this tractor wheel each year to see how I've grown.  I definitely went up from last year!
What a great day!

First Day of Preschool

Today was a very exciting day - my first day of preschool!  I couldn't wait to get out the door and on my way!
Here's my pal Reid who lives down the block and is also in my class.
Daddy worked from home today so he could come with us for my first day - the parents stayed with the kids today and we were only there for an hour and a half.  But tomorrow I get to go for the full half-day all by myself!  We got to check out all the fun things that I will do this year in my classroom and my teacher Ms. Laura sang some songs with us and read us a story.  Then we got a snack in the lunchroom with all the other preschool classes and the principal came to welcome us to Goethe Elementary School :-)  It's going to be a great year!

More U.P. Fun

I heard there are some very similar pictures of my older bro in this same sink at Grandma & Grandpa's house around the same age...
Yup, here he is - Noah @ 10 months old!
My buddy Max came over to play and we were both jammin' to our headphones...well, I think his was a book on tape, but he seemed to like it!
Happy Birthday Grandma MJ!
I've mastered scooting on carpet now (instead of just slippery hard wood floors) and look where I ended up!
Chutes and Ladders play structure at the Houghton beach - this place is awesome!!!!!!
Who put me in here?!
I went to the Houghton County Fair for the first time this year - one of Mom and Dad's fun annual childhood events growing up.  I absolutely loved it...and so did Mom and Dad, from a little bit of a different perspective this time :-)  Grandma MJ came with us and Max was there with his Mom and Grandma too.
Grandpa with his boys
On Saturday we hit the water for more boating and the beach with Grandpa & Grandma.  What a great vacation!!
