U.P. Summer Vacation - Part 1

We are having a fantastic time up here in Hancock!  We've been busy every day enjoying the great weather and being with our family.  Some highlights of the first week include our ride on the old steam train, helping Grandpa Bob to build the wall at their house (which included driving and operating the backhoe by myself!), beautiful days and campfire nights at Grandpa's camp on Lake Superior, a belated birthday celebration for Nana, and fishing with Grandpa Bob and Daddy.  We caught a bucket-full!

That's Mommy way out there in the water and me running out to her.  On the beach - Grandma Chris, Great-Grandma Glo, MB, Grandpa Bob, Nana and Koen.
 Look at those pipes!

Choo-Choo Diner

While Grandma Chris and MB were here visiting, we all took the Metra out to the Choo-Choo Diner for lunch.  It's still one of our favorite places to go!

The Metra ride is just as much fun as the diner!

New friends

We made some new friends - little ones!  Mommy's college roommates came over for a visit with their babies, Willa and Cameron.  Koen and I liked being the big boys!
Mommy really enjoyed seeing her old friends too :-)

Kid Fun

The artists were at work!

We had a whole bunch of my friends over for a homemade pizza making party, then topped it off with cookie decorating and a movie.  We made a mess and had a blast!

Early Morning Beach Time

7:30am, Sunday morn at North Avenue beach :-)  We joined many others from our church to watch the annual baptism service in Lake Michigan.  It's become a fun tradition for us as a family - and it's pretty awesome to get to spend an hour at the beach before church!

Two Special Days

A trip on the Metra to the Choo-Choo Diner with our pal Sam
And a silly Father's Day photo booth at church :-)  We love you Dad!

Savannah

We went on vacation to Savannah for Auntie Lyndsey's graduation from the college of art & design and had a wonderful time!  Nana rented a beach house for all of us on Tybee Island so we spent most of our time on the beach but also had lots of fun exploring Savannah.  And of course we loved hanging out with our cousin Emmie!

This was the tree in our front yard that had a face in it - Emmie and I thought it was creepy and decided to throw things at it.
On the trolley tour of Savannah with Auntie Lyndsey, cousin Christie, and the rest of the gang.
There was an awesome fountain in Savannah for for us kids to play in and beat the heat!
